STALEKS EXPERT 40 crescent mineral file 150/240 grit: fine shaping, very gentle finish
Two sides that sit far apart: the 150 puts the shape in place without forcing, the 240 finishes with a softness that thin and weakened nails take well. This STALEKS EXPERT 40 mineral file therefore saves the intermediate file when you want to move quickly without rushing the nail plate. Its crescent cut lays the curve along the whole free edge and spreads the contact instead of concentrating it. A professional-quality disposable file, offered individually or in a pack of 25.

STALEKS EXPERT 40 crescent mineral file 150/240 grit, the file for nails that cannot take a coarse grit
The STALEKS EXPERT 40 crescent mineral file in 150/240 grit brings together the two furthest-apart sides of the series: fine shaping at 150, a very gentle finish at 240. It was designed for hands where a biting grit has no business, those whose nail plate is thin, flexible or weakened by successive sets. The curve of the working edge, the thin foam layer set under the white abrasive and its stearate coating complete that bias towards gentleness, in a professional-quality disposable consumable.
A crescent for filing without pressing
The crescent outline is not only there to draw a pretty line. Because the working edge is curved, it meets the free edge along a portion of curve rather than at a single point: the contact spreads out and the hand does not have to force for the file to bite. On a flexible nail, that is exactly what you are looking for. The file has a straight side, for length and precision of shape, and a curved side, for the cuticle area and the lateral folds.
The cut also gives a natural grip. The tapered ends reach the sidewalls and corners, the central part follows the round of the free edge, and the pass underneath the nail happens without the corner of the file pressing into the fingertip. Round and oval shapes are built in few movements; almond simply asks you to keep the tool well in line.
From 150 to 240: the widest grit gap in the series
The 150 grit is still a shaping grit, but a measured one. It shortens, opens the sidewalls and puts the line in place at a steady rate, without digging in, which makes it easy to read even when working a plate that lacks thickness.
The 240 grit is markedly softer. It is no longer there to remove material but to finish: to close the edge of the free edge, erase the last catch, leave a clean rim that polish or base coat will cover without snagging. On a natural nail that tends to flake, this is the side kept for the end.
Between those two sides lies the widest gap in the EXPERT 40 selection: the 150 works, the 240 finishes, and no intermediate file needs to enter the sequence.
A finishing grit goes quickly
The 150/240 grit file is offered individually and in a pack of 25. A finishing file is used in almost every service, including those where no roughing was needed: it is often the grit you reorder first. The pack of 25 avoids running out at the wrong moment; a single file helps when you are just one short of finishing the day.
Single use throughout: the 240 side loses its bite faster than the coarse grits, and a dull finishing file smooths the free edge poorly. Discarding it after each client is therefore not only a hygiene question, it is a result question.
Thin nails, weakened nails: why this pair
A thin plate reacts badly to a grit that bites too hard: material goes faster than planned and the edge frays. The 150/240 pair answers that from above, by lowering the abrasiveness at both ends of the sequence. You keep enough to shape, and you gain a finish the client feels as smooth the moment the file leaves the nail.
This file will be of particular interest to practitioners who work a lot on the natural nail: maintenance manicures, reshaping after a removal, upkeep of a gel polish, bitten nails being brought back gently. The movement goes one way, without sawing, the 150 side first, the 240 side as the last pass.
A supple abrasive and dust that does not cling
The EXPERT range is the professional line from Staleks. On this file it shows first in the thin foam layer slipped under the white abrasive: it absorbs part of the pressure and lets the 240 side make very light contact, with no jolt, which is precisely what a thin nail expects.
The stearate coating on the abrasive surface takes over: filing dust clings to it less, and the finishing side stays crisp for longer. A clogged 240 side stops smoothing and starts sliding, something you see immediately in the look of the edge.

When the finish has to stay invisible
The STALEKS EXPERT 40 in 150/240 grit is the file you choose when the result must be clean without the filing showing. One side to set the shape, one side to soften it, a curve that follows the free edge and contact that is spread out: enough to look after a delicate hand as well as a hurried one. It remains available individually and in a pack of 25, depending on the pace of the salon.
