DNKa' Fast Gel 0017 Oxford: the nude pink nobody notices

Fast Gel DNKa' #0017 sits at the balance point of the Oxford collection, exactly halfway between nude and pink. Rosy enough to give the finger some health, nude enough never to look like a chosen colour. This is the liquid builder gel you reach for when the client says she wants nothing visible, and the hand still has to look dressed.

Not quite nude, not really pink

The undertone of #0017 is close to neutral, with a measured rosy lean: not grey, not beige, not candy. Laid as a veil it keeps a semi-transparency that lets the structure of the nail show and respects the lunula; clients tend to describe the result as a clean nail rather than a coloured one. That translucent behaviour is also what makes it easy to blend: regrowth does not draw a visible step between two appointments.

Where #0017 stands against the other three Oxford pinks

The collection holds four pinks that look close on paper and behave very differently on the hand. #0018 adds milk: it whitens and camouflages. #0019 tips towards cool: it cools the hand and sharpens the line. #0020 commits to colour: it is a pastel coral you can see. #0017 stays in the middle of that triangle, the only one that takes no side on either temperature or opacity. If you were allowed just one Oxford pink on your bench, this would be it.

One coat or two: two results to offer

In a single evening coat, #0017 gives an almost bare, near-natural finish, ideal on short nails. Add a second thin pass and it gains density, moving towards a dressed nude without ever going opaque: the material stays alive. That is a genuine appointment argument, since the same bottle covers two different services depending on what the client asks for on the day.

The complexions it welcomes

This is the lowest-risk shade of the four. On fair skin it merges with the finger. On golden skin its neutrality prevents the grey cast that overly cool nudes produce. On deeper skin it stays discreet and simply asks for a little more material so it does not vanish. It therefore suits salons with a very mixed clientele, looking for a safe standard rather than a seasonal shade.

A builder gel, not a gel polish

Do not mistake the category: Fast Gel is not a polish. Its texture, close to a base, is that of a self-levelling sculpting gel, able to reinforce a natural nail, carry an extension, handle an infill and rebuild a damaged area. The formula is low in acid and free from both HEMA and TPO, which makes it appropriate for thin nails. The 12 ml bottle is the only size in the range.

Lamp settings

With a 48/36 W LED-UV lamp: 30 to 60 seconds for the base, 90 to 180 seconds for the Fast Gel layer, 120 to 180 seconds for the top coat. On a #0017 applied as a fine veil the lower part of the range is usually enough; double the shade and move towards the top of the window.

Quiet pairings

#0017 makes a perfect ground for anything that must stay understated: a micro white french, a one-millimetre silver line, a pearl chrome tip, or simply a glossy top. It also works as a transition shade for clients who alternate between two stronger colours and want a pause between two sets.
