STALEKS EXPERT 51 disposable white files in 240 grit, finishing at your fingertips

The STALEKS EXPERT 51 disposable white files in 240 grit are the gentlest self-adhesive abrasive strips made for the EXPERT 51 short nail file, on the MBE-50 and SPBE-50 short bases. A 76 x 18 mm format and a pack of 10 pieces: a finishing consumable, to be kept close at hand for the very last stage of a manicure. This grit removes almost no material; it smooths, it softens, it completes.

Completing rather than correcting

By the time this strip comes out, the shape has already been settled. All that remains is to make the edge pleasant to the touch: erase the thread that survives underneath the free edge, take the sharpness off both corners, even out the cut so it catches neither a pair of tights nor a strand of hair. Nothing spectacular, yet this is the pass that gives a service its professional feel.

Because material removal is minimal, you can go back over the edge several times without risking the line you have just obtained, and check the result with a fingertip between passes.

Thin and fragile nails, its natural territory

On plates that are thinned, soft or splitting at the free edge, a sharp abrasive tears the edge instead of cutting it. This grit works at the surface and respects the structure of the free edge. The instruction never changes: a thoroughly dry nail, a very light hand, a continuous stroke in one direction.

It is also the grit to favour when a client reports discomfort after ordinary filing, or when a nail is growing back after an accident and needs sparing for several weeks.

A short format for detail work

Finishing is detail work by nature, which explains why the 76 x 18 mm format suits it so well. The tool is held as close to the nail as possible, the movement comes from the fingers, the angle of attack is controlled to the degree. On short or small nails, on little fingers, on a single edge to rescue in the middle of the day, that handling saves genuine time.

The short metal base stays rigid under pressure, so the strip does not twist during smoothing; the white abrasive shows the fine dust being produced, a sign that the grit is still working.

Ten strips: the right size for a finishing grit

A finishing grit is not consumed at the pace of a working grit. It comes in for a few minutes at the end of a service, often on only part of a day's appointments. The pack of 10 strips matches that use: a reserve sized just right, which avoids tying up stock and leaving abrasives waiting too long in a drawer.

It is also a handy format for topping up a mobile kit or for trying the system before investing further. The underlying arithmetic is unchanged: the short base is bought once and kept, only the strip is renewed for each client.

Single use, base sterilised between two clients

Each strip is intended for one service. Once lifted it is neither stuck back on nor treated in any way: it joins the treatment waste. The short base is cleaned, disinfected and then sterilised according to the salon protocol before receiving a fresh strip. That is the very principle of the Staleks system, and it is what guarantees that no residue passes from one appointment to the next.

The movement: peel, align, press, remove

  1. Check that the short base is disinfected and perfectly dry.
  2. Take the film covering the adhesive off the back of the strip.
  3. Set the strip down edge to edge and press from one end to the other.
  4. Smooth the edge and soften the corners, brushing the abrasive if needed.
  5. Lift the used strip by a corner and throw it away.
  6. Hand the base over for cleaning, disinfection and then sterilisation.
