Why label two such obvious shades

The question is fair. A white and a black are recognisable with no written name. But a shade chart is not only there to help you find a bottle: it shows the client what you offer. An unlabelled white tip says nothing. The same tip marked Solid Paint Gel indicates it is an opaque paint gel, therefore a design service, and not a background colour.

What it changes in the sale

The client browsing your chart does not know the difference between a paint gel, a builder gel and a polish. The name on the label gives her that without you having to explain. It is what turns a shade chart into a selling tool rather than a personal memory aid.

How to apply them

Stick each label on the matching tip, on the side that does not carry the colour, before fixing the tip to the ring or fan. Do it while building the chart rather than afterwards.

A design chart is shown differently

Do not apply these two gels as a flat coat. Draw a fine line, an outline and a motif on the tip instead: the client then sees what the product allows you to do, not just the colour it has.

Two references, plenty of designs

White and black are the two most used paint gels: graphic lines, outlines, reverse french, motifs. They deserve a visible place on the display rather than a line lost among the colours.
