Rhubarb sits between the bright reds and the deep burgundies of the range. A cool raspberry red, lightly tart, whose density makes it markedly more dressed up than a classic red without tipping it into evening shades.

Rhubarb or Celebration

Both are cool reds with a raspberry cast, and the confusion is easy in a catalogue. Gel Polish HEYLOVE Celebration is paler and brighter, in a frankly pink register. Rhubarb is deeper and more muted, with more red in the mix. Placed side by side on two tips, the gap is immediate; described over the phone, they merge entirely.

How to apply it

Cleanse and dry with pH Bond HEYLOVE, lay Ultra Bond HEYLOVE on the edge and wait for it to set in the air. Thirty to sixty seconds of lamp for Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear. After shaking the bottle, a thin veil of Rhubarb cured for one minute already gives a dense ground; the second pass stays a judgement call.

When to suggest it

It crosses the year without difficulty, with a peak in autumn and in spring. It is a mid-range shade in the literal sense: neither bright enough for summer nor dark enough for winter, but perfectly at home in the in-between seasons.

Who to recommend it to

Clients with cool undertones, on whom orange reds clash. It is also a good transition shade to bring a client towards burgundies when she has only ever worn bright reds.
