Gel Polish HEYLOVE Petal: the mauve pink of the Spring-Summer 2026 collection

Petal is not the tender pink its name suggests. Measuring the official tip gives a frankly greyed pink with a mauve cast, clearly less saturated than Kiss and Berry Punch. A discreet powder rather than a flower petal.

Grey changes the clientele, not the colour

A pure pink reads as a pretty manicure. The same pink greyed reads as a considered one. It is a difference of register rather than of quality, but it corresponds to two distinct clienteles. Petal is the shade to offer a client who refuses pink on principle: she will not see a pink, but a coloured neutral.

How to apply it

After pH Bond HEYLOVE and Ultra Bond HEYLOVE laid on the edge and left to set alone, Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear needs 30 seconds. Shake the bottle, then Petal in two thin veils of one minute each. Greyed shades underline the ridges of the plate instead of masking them: sort out the levelling before the colour.

Which hands it suits

Its mauve cast makes it particularly flattering on cool undertones, where it extends the visible veins of the wrist. On warm skin it reads more taupe than pink, which is not necessarily a fault: many clients look for exactly that ambiguous reading, more discreet than an assumed pink.

What it lets you create

Very sober coloured French, where a mauve smile line replaces the white for a far less predictable result. And finger-by-finger pastel gradients, with Lychee on the pale side and Berry Punch on the deeper one. The camaieu reads immediately, without calling for any nail art skill at all, and bills above a plain full colour for a strictly comparable application time.

When to suggest it

From March to June above all, but it stays wearable all year on a clientele attached to soft, muted shades, and never looks out of season. On short nails the result is fresh and sober; on longer shapes it gains presence without becoming demonstrative.
