Ultra Bond HEYLOVE: the acid-free primer that secures adhesion

Ultra Bond is HEYLOVE's acid-free primer. Its role is precise: to create reliable grip between the natural nail and the base, without attacking the keratin. The brand describes it as double-sided tape, an image that captures how it works : it does not strip, it bridges.

Acid-free: what that means at the desk

An acid primer works by modifying the surface of the nail. An acid-free primer respects the natural pH balance instead. The difference shows most with clients who report tingling, a sensation of heat or discomfort after the set. On thin, weakened or damaged nails, the acid-free formula secures adhesion without adding aggression to a nail already under strain.

When it is genuinely useful

Three situations come up regularly. Naturally oily nails, on which the base slides and lifts within days. Clients whose regrowth is systematically accompanied by lifting at the cuticle area. And heavily used hands : wet work, frequent cleaning, sport : where the set is under constant strain. In these cases the primer is not an optional step.

How to apply it

Carry out the usual preparation: shaping the free edge, removing the shine with a buffer or file. Degrease with pH Bond HEYLOVE. Then apply Ultra Bond in a very thin coat, on the plate only, avoiding the cuticles and the side walls. Let it dry for about twenty seconds, without curing, then continue with Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear or directly with your Tint Base HEYLOVE.

The mistake to avoid

The thick coat. An overdosed primer produces the opposite of the intended effect: the base sits on a poorly dried film and adhesion drops. A thin, invisible layer is enough. The 15 ml bottle and its built-in brush allow exactly that dosing : simply wipe the brush on the neck before applying.

This formula contains neither HEMA nor Di-HEMA, so it falls outside the European restriction that reserves those two substances for professional use.
