pH Bond HEYLOVE: the dehydrator that decides how long the set holds

pH Bond is a dehydrator intended to prepare the nail plate before the base goes on. Its job is to remove the natural oils and the moisture present on the surface of the nail, two factors that prevent lasting adhesion. HEYLOVE places it as the first step of every one of its application routines.

Why this step is never skipped

A nail that looks clean is not clean chemically. Sebum from the fingers, the cream applied that morning, moisture from a recent hand wash all form a film that is thin but sufficient to compromise the set. A set that lifts after five days rarely comes from the base: it comes from what was left underneath. The dehydrator removes that film and makes the surface receptive.

When to apply it

After the manicure, once shaping is finished and the shine has been removed. Dust off, then apply pH Bond across the whole plate. Let it evaporate: the nail takes on a characteristically matte, dry look. Continue immediately with Ultra Bond HEYLOVE if you are using a primer, then with Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear or a Tint Base HEYLOVE. Do not let the client rest her hands in between: contact with skin reintroduces the oils you have just removed.

Dehydrator and primer are two different products

The confusion is common. pH Bond cleans and dries, Ultra Bond creates the grip. The first prepares the surface, the second bridges to the base. They do not replace one another and are used in that order. On a very oily nail or one prone to lifting, running both in sequence is what makes the difference in wear.

Who to recommend it to

Every professional, in truth: it is a stock-cupboard consumable. It becomes indispensable on oily hands, with clients who use a lot of hand cream, and in warm weather, when perspiration on the fingers complicates adhesion.

This formula contains neither HEMA nor Di-HEMA, so it falls outside the European restriction that reserves those two substances for professional use.
