Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Devon: the cream white of the Cats collection

Devon borrows its paleness from the cream coat of the Devon Rex. A milky white with a hint of beige, in which the magnetic particles produce a very soft pearly reflection, the opposite of the sharp contrast obtained on Bengal.

A cat's eye on a pale ground: what to expect

Better announced before the set. On a very pale ground, the difference in brightness between the dense zone and the light zone is small: the band exists but stays discreet, and the whole looks more like mother-of-pearl than a frank cat's eye. A client who came for a spectacular effect will be disappointed; one looking for a milky shade that is alive rather than flat will be delighted. It is a question of expectation, not of product quality.

How to apply it

pH Bond HEYLOVE opens the preparation, the primer Ultra Bond HEYLOVE dries on its own, and 30 seconds of lamp cure a coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear. Devon is laid in a very light veil, completed with a little material and then levelled. Three to five seconds of magnet, a minute of lamp.

Two coats, not one

On very pale shades, the first coat stays translucent and lets the nail show through, which blurs the reflection entirely. It is the second that establishes the density needed for the particles to work in the same plane. Count on two thin applications, never one loaded coat.

Which services it works for

A wedding and ceremony shade, where the milky finish suits the protocol and the pearl reveals itself in the photographs. It also serves as a very modern French base, the reflection advantageously replacing a classic white smile line.

On which lengths

On short nails the result stays very clean and discreet. On longer shapes the reflection has more surface and the pearl becomes markedly more legible on the hand.

This formula contains neither HEMA nor Di-HEMA, so it falls outside the European restriction that reserves those two substances for professional use.
