Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Mirage: the silver grey of the Magic collection

Mirage is the palest and most neutral shade of the Magic collection. An almost metallic silver grey, in which the magnetic particles draw a crisp, luminous reflection as soon as the magnet comes near.

How a cat's eye polish works

The material contains fine metallic particles in suspension. As long as the polish is not cured, those particles stay mobile: a magnet held nearby attracts and aligns them, creating a dense zone and a bright one. Curing fixes that alignment for good. So it is you who draws the effect, not the product, and two sets from the same bottle can give radically different results.

How to apply it

Prepare the plate with pH Bond HEYLOVE, then Ultra Bond HEYLOVE left to air dry. A coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cured for 30 seconds serves as the foundation. Spread Mirage thinly, add a small extra drop and smooth the material. The magnet comes before the lamp: hold it along the intended axis, a few millimetres from the nail, for three to five seconds. Then cure for a full minute, add a second thin coat if the reflection lacks density, and seal with a glossy top.

Which magnet to use

Not every nail art magnet gives the same drawing. A flat magnet produces a wide, soft band, a bar magnet a narrow and highly contrasted line, a bevelled magnet an oblique sash. The product is the same, the result changes completely with the tool. It is therefore worth owning two or three rather than multiplying bottles.

Why a neutral grey is the best starting point

On a neutral shade the effect reads for itself, without the colour competing. It is the reference to recommend for a first experience of cat's eye, at the desk as much as for a technician discovering the technique: the result is immediately visible, even if the alignment is not yet perfectly mastered.
