Gel Polish HEYLOVE Graphite - 15 ml

Gel Polish HEYLOVE Graphite: the medium grey of the Basic collection

Graphite occupies the exact centre of the grey family. A true bluish grey, neither pale nor dark, shifting from the register of the neutral to that of the assumed colour without ever becoming demonstrative.

Medium grey, the hardest place to hold

Pale greys sell like nudes, dark greys like alternatives to black. Medium grey has neither of those arguments and rests entirely on its own quality: it has to be true, turn neither blue nor brown, and hold its course under artificial light. It is the grey by which a range is judged, and this one stands the comparison.

Which top to finish with

Gloss gives the grey a lacquered depth that emphasises its blue cast. Top HEYLOVE Super Matte turns it into a concrete grey, mineral, far more contemporary. It is one of the shades in the collection where matte changes the register most radically.

How to apply it

pH Bond HEYLOVE dries, Ultra Bond HEYLOVE goes on the edge and dries in the air, Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cures in 30 to 60 seconds. Shake, then Graphite in one or two thin coats of one minute. Its density often lets you stop at a single well-spread pass.

On which lengths

On short square nails it gives a crisp, very current result. On a long almond, its density gains scale and the result becomes more dressed up.

When to suggest it

All year round, with a peak in autumn and winter. It suits clients who wear neutral wardrobes and want a manicure coherent with their clothes rather than a contrast.

Who to recommend it to

Clients who find pale greys too discreet and dark ones too severe. Graphite settles that hesitation without either sacrifice.

What to pair it with

It blends naturally with Dust and Mouse in a grey gradient. Silver decoration extends its cool cast better than gold.
