Flash Fish HEYLOVE #6: silver and petrol blue

Flash Fish #6 is the most complex in the range. Over a base of silver and petrol blue, pink holographic particles slip in small quantity, enough for the shade to change with the light without being nameable in a single word.

What a warm-cool mix produces

This is what sets it apart from Flash Fish HEYLOVE #5, more outright turquoise, and Flash Fish HEYLOVE #2, purely cool. Adding pink particles to a blue ground creates a shifting effect: the hand looks blue in daylight, more violet under the warm lighting of a salon. A client photographing her set will get two different results depending on the room, which is rather an argument.

How to apply it

Cured base, placement without stretching, a few seconds to settle, one to two minutes of lamp depending on the load. On a multi-particle mix like this one, the urge to go back over with the brush to even things out is particularly strong: it always produces zones where a single colour dominates, which ruins the point of the mix.

Density changes the shade

A useful point to know before advising. In a thin coat, silver dominates and the blue stays a nuance. In a heavy coat, petrol blue takes over and the whole becomes noticeably darker. Show both densities on tips: they are two different shades from the same jar, and the client will not expect it.

On which grounds

Over a nude or grey it stays legible and dressy. Over navy or dark green it blends more and plays the part of a sparkling veil rather than an accent. The first option suits everyday sets, the second evening requests.
