Solid Platinum Gel HEYLOVE Silver: the reference mirror

Silver is the shade every other one in the range is measured against. It is pure silver, the most reflective of the whole set, the one that gives the cleanest mirror because no colour cast softens the return of light.

Silver is the shade that tests the formula

On a metallic range, silver is always what reveals the quality of the formulation. Golds and coppers carry a colour that partly masks any misalignment of the pigment; silver has nothing but its reflectivity. If the mirror is crisp on this reference, it will be crisp on the other seven. That is also why it is the one to test first when you discover the range.

How to apply it

Stir the material before picking it up, the pigment settles at the bottom of the jar. Apply a thin coat over a cured ground and wait a few seconds without touching: during that pause the particles orient themselves and the mirror appears. Cure for one to two minutes.

Sealing decides everything

This is the point to read before first use. A top coat applied normally, with back-and-forth strokes and slight pressure, misaligns the pigment and the mirror effect disappears on the spot. The correct gesture comes down to four points: generously loaded top coat, single pass, no pressure, lamp immediately. Practise once on tips before doing it on a client.

The ground must be flawless

A mirror reflects whatever lies beneath it. The slightest wave in the base, the slightest filing irregularity reads through the metallic surface, far more than under a matte colour. On this range, time spent obtaining a perfectly smooth base is not perfectionism, it determines the result.
