Gypsum Gel HEYLOVE Gray: the mineral texture of the range

Gypsum Gel Gray is the one of the four that most resembles the material it imitates. White suggests fresh plaster and black works by contrast; grey delivers concrete, honed stone or raw linen directly, without the result needing any explanation.

Texture for a understated clientele

There is a type of client who refuses nail art on principle yet finds nude sets monotonous. Grey texture answers exactly that brief: nothing coloured, nothing shiny, nothing noticeable from three metres away, but a material that gives the eye something to look at up close. It is the reference to bring out for the client who tells you she wants just something natural, but not boring.

How to apply it

Over a cured ground, place the material with a spatula without stretching it. For a concrete effect, dab with a fine sponge then lightly smooth the tops of the relief. For linen, cross regular strokes with a flat brush. Cure for 30 to 60 seconds depending on thickness. Too pronounced a texture loses the subtlety that makes this shade interesting: here restraint pays.

Grey combines better than the others

That is its real strength. A textured grey block on two fingers sits well with any nude, any taupe, any white in the range, without having to think about harmony. Combinations with Gypsum Gel HEYLOVE White give a gradient of material very close to limestone, and Gypsum Gel HEYLOVE Black as an occasional accent is enough to structure the whole.

The finish

Use Top HEYLOVE Super Matte: on concrete, a gloss finish is a visible contradiction. If the client wants shine, keep it for the untextured fingers so you create a contrast of material rather than of colour.
