Solid Platinum Gel HEYLOVE Cold Blue: blued steel

Cold Blue steps outside the register of precious metals. The other seven references in the range work through gold and silver; this one offers a cool metallic blue, close to blued steel or anodised titanium. It is the only one that brings colour in the strict sense.

Why a metallic range needs a colour

Because precious metals all resemble one another, and a hand entirely done in gold or silver eventually lacks relief. A frankly coloured shade on one finger breaks the monotony and gives the eye somewhere to land. It is also the reference to bring out for clients who find gold and silver too predictable.

How to apply it

Stir the jar, lay a thin coat over a cured ground, wait a few seconds for the pigment to spread, cure for one to two minutes. On this shade the coat density noticeably changes the result: very thin it gives a translucent blue veil; slightly heavier, a definite metallic blue.

Black is its best ground

That is where it gives the most. Over a black ground the blue densifies and the mirror becomes deep, almost liquid. Over a light ground it loses intensity and turns towards a bluish grey that holds less interest. If you can only show one swatch, show it on black.

The designs that suit it

It works particularly well alongside Solid Platinum Gel HEYLOVE Silver, whose coolness it shares: a gradient between the two gives a very convincing heated metal effect. Pairing it with the golds of the range, on the other hand, creates a warm-cool contrast that is hard to balance on a single hand.
