Terrazzo Gel HEYLOVE #1: natural terrazzo

Terrazzo Gel #1 reproduces the Italian flooring the range takes its name from: flakes of irregular size and shape, white, beige, black and gold, scattered through a cream ground. It is the reference most faithful to the model and the easiest of the four to wear.

Irregular flakes, not glitter

The distinction matters at purchase and it separates this range from Flash Fish and Coin Gel. Glitter is a regular hexagon that returns light predictably. A terrazzo flake is a fragment with broken edges, of variable size, that produces a pattern instead of a sparkle. The result reads as stone, not as glitter, and it suits clients who specifically refuse glitter.

How to apply it

Prep with pH Bond HEYLOVE then Ultra Bond HEYLOVE, lay a coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cured for 30 seconds. Place the Terrazzo Gel in a thin coat, let the flakes settle, then cure for one to two minutes. The consistency is comfortable to work and the medium density lets you cover the whole nail without the result saturating.

The dispersion layer

This gel leaves one, unlike other references in the design range. Remove it with cleaner before filing and before the top coat, otherwise you will spread a tacky film over the flakes and the finish will look dull. It is a step easily forgotten when you are used to products that leave none.

Sealing an uneven surface

Terrazzo flakes create more relief than flat glitter, and that relief is uneven. A single coat of Top HEYLOVE No Sticky almost always leaves ridges you can feel: two thin coats with curing in between solve the problem and give the smooth finish a client expects at this price.
