Gel Polish HEYLOVE Air: the frosted blue of the Basic collection

Air opens the blue family with its palest shade. A blue so lightened it evokes mist on a cold windowpane, and behaves more like a coloured milky shade than a blue in the usual sense.

The blue that frightens nobody

That is its main interest at the desk. Most clients refuse blue for fear of too marked a result. At this level of paleness, the objection falls away: the colour is perceived as a nuance rather than an assertive choice. It is the ideal way into this family, and often the first blue a client agrees to wear as a full colour.

How to apply it

File, dust off, dry with pH Bond HEYLOVE. The primer Ultra Bond HEYLOVE goes on the edge and sets on its own, without the lamp. Count 30 to 60 seconds for Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear. Shake, then two thin veils of Air, one minute each. On very pale shades the second coat is not optional: it alone gives an even ground.

In French and in nail art

Its paleness makes an unusual but very successful French base, where the white smile line stays legible without harshness. It also serves as a ground for fine silver decoration.

On which hands it shows best

On fair skin it plays on a delicate porcelain effect. On deeper skin it stands out more and shifts into a more graphic register. In both cases it visually lengthens a short nail.

When to suggest it

From spring to the end of summer, but it also works in winter where its frosted quality suits the season. It is one of the rare blues that needs no sales preparation at all.

How many bottles to plan for

Very pale shades turn over all year, unlike the seasonal colours. One bottle is usually enough to start.
