Gel Polish HEYLOVE Velvet: the burgundy red of the Basic collection

Velvet is a dense red burgundy, darker than Sangria and warmer than the plums of the series. It occupies the hinge between the colours still identifiable as such and the near-blacks that follow in the collection.

The velvet is not in the bottle, it is in the top

The name of the shade takes on its full meaning at the finish. Under a glossy top, Velvet gives a very classic lacquered burgundy. Under Top HEYLOVE Super Matte, the surface turns velvety and the colour trades brilliance for depth: the result literally evokes a fabric. It is one of the rare shades in the range where matte is not a variant but the finish the product seems destined for.

How to apply it

Start with pH Bond HEYLOVE, lay Ultra Bond HEYLOVE on the edge and wait for it to set in the air. Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear needs 30 to 60 seconds of lamp. Shake, spread Velvet in an even veil, one minute of curing. A second veil is only useful if the ground stays uneven.

On which lengths

On short nails the depth of the shade stays contained and the result goes anywhere. On a long almond or ballerina, the larger surface lets the colour speak and the result becomes frankly theatrical.

Who to offer it to

Clients who like burgundy but find glossy finishes too predictable. Matte instantly modernises the shade and makes it compatible with a contemporary wardrobe.
