Gel Polish HEYLOVE Citron: the pale yellow of the Basic collection

Citron is a lightened yellow, tinted with a hint of green that gives it its tart edge. It is the softer of the two yellows in the collection, and by far the easiest to wear day to day.

Two ways to make a yellow wearable

The first is to warm it towards gold, as Sunshine does. The second is to lighten it to a pastel, and that is the route chosen here. The results differ completely: Sunshine asserts a colour, Citron proposes a nuance. With a client who dreads yellow, it is almost always the second approach that works.

How to apply it

Cleanse with pH Bond HEYLOVE, lay Ultra Bond HEYLOVE on the edge and let it set in the air. Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear needs 30 to 60 seconds of lamp. Shake, then two thin veils of Citron, one minute each. Pale yellows readily let the pink of the nail show through: the second coat is what guarantees a clean ground.

Who to recommend it to

Clients who like pastels and want to move beyond the usual pinks and blues. It is also a good holiday shade: it shows in photographs without ever looking excessive.

In nail art

Its paleness makes an excellent ground for fine dark linework, where saturated yellows absorb the decoration instead of showing it off.

When to suggest it

From May to September, as a full colour on short nails for a fresh effect, or as an accent among the other pastels of the range. It works remarkably in pedicure.
