Gel Polish HEYLOVE Ristretto: the chocolate brown of the Basic collection

Ristretto takes its name from the most concentrated coffee, and the shade follows: a chocolate brown so dense it brushes against black, but whose warmth stays perceptible. It is the only frankly brown cast in the whole group of dark shades.

Dark brown, brought back by fashion

Long considered dated, deep brown has become a common request again, driven by the clothing trends of recent seasons. It also has an advantage black does not: its warmth softens hands marked by cold or work, where a black sharpens redness by contrast. It is a shade to offer actively rather than wait for.

How to apply it

Drying with pH Bond HEYLOVE, Ultra Bond HEYLOVE on the edge left to set without the lamp, then 30 to 60 seconds for Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear. Shake, apply Ristretto in a thin veil and cure for one minute. Watch the side walls, where material builds up easily on dense shades and shows at once under the top.

What to pair it with

It goes naturally with the pale browns and caramels of the range, in a camaieu that works well from finger to finger. Against a bright pink, on the other hand, the contrast turns harsh and breaks the coherence of the hand.

When to suggest it

From September to March above all, but it works year-round on deeper skin tones where the brown extends the hand rather than cutting across it. On short nails it stays perfectly sober.

On which lengths

Very dark shades visually lengthen a short nail, which makes them a good choice on stubby or bitten nails. On long nails the depth of the brown has room to speak.
