Tint Base HEYLOVE Moonlight: the navy blue of the Forest collection

Moonlight is a night blue, dense and slightly greyed. In blue it holds the place Leaf holds in green: that of the full colour, at the opposite end from the sheer nuances.

Navy blue, the easiest dark colour to wear

This is a point few technicians exploit. A client who refuses black often accepts navy, because it has the depth without the harshness. It also goes with almost every wardrobe, navy being one of the rare tones worn as readily in summer as in winter. In front of a client tempted by dark shades but hesitant, start with this one.

How to apply it

Degrease with pH Bond HEYLOVE, lay the acid-free primer Ultra Bond HEYLOVE on the free edge and let it dry completely. Apply a coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear as a foundation, cure for 30 seconds, then one or two coats of Tint Base to cure for 60 seconds in a UV or LED lamp before the top coat.

Photographing very dark shades

This is a difficulty every technician running a professional account meets. A deep blue photographed with flash becomes a flat black with no relief, and all the work disappears. Photograph it in daylight, looking for a reflection that crosses the surface: that reflection is what renders the depth of the shade.

With which decoration

Silver linework and fine white lines stand out clearly on this cool ground, while gold creates a warm break with less coherence. A fine liner on a single finger is enough to structure the whole.

On which lengths

On short nails the result stays graphic and crisp; on medium length the shade gains surface.

Which top to finish with

Gloss preserves the depth of the shade; a matte finish gives it a more contemporary look.
