Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Siam: the blue of the Cats collection

Siam takes its name from the Siamese breed and its blue eyes, which for once announces the colour faithfully. A medium, luminous sky blue, on which the magnetic particles draw a highly legible line of light.

Cats or Textile: two opposite effects

HEYLOVE offers two magnetic families and they do not do the same job. The Textile collection distributes the particles widely and produces a silky shimmer with no marked line. The Cats collection concentrates them into a narrow, strongly contrasted band, the cat's eye in the strict sense. If your client asks for a cat's eye, this is the range to bring out, not the other.

How to apply it

File, dust off, then pass pH Bond HEYLOVE over the whole plate. Ultra Bond HEYLOVE comes next on the free edge and must dry on its own, without the lamp. You then cure a coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear for 30 seconds. Siam is laid in an even veil, a small amount of material is added at the centre, you level it out, and it is at that precise moment that the magnet comes in: three to five seconds, without contact. A minute of lamp fixes the drawing.

On which hands it shows best

Pale blue is a cool colour that gives its finest contrast on fair skin, where it plays on the porcelain effect. On deeper skin it stays very attractive but shifts towards a more graphic register. In both cases the magnetic band reads perfectly, which is not true of every shade in the series.

When to suggest it

In spring and summer, where blue accompanies light clothing, and in winter on pale hands where the contrast plays to the full. It is also one of the rare frank colours in a collection dominated by neutrals and browns.

This formula contains neither HEMA nor Di-HEMA, so it falls outside the European restriction that reserves those two substances for professional use.
