Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Lurex: the coppery gold of the Textile collection

Lurex is the only frankly metallic shade of the series. A warm, dense coppery gold, whose diffuse shimmer reproduces the look of a bright thread woven into fabric, which explains the name and sums up the result perfectly.

A colour that does not behave like the others

Golds pose a difficulty of their own: they mercilessly reveal surface irregularities. Where a nude forgives a slightly ridged plate, a metallic underlines every relief, because light reflects differently depending on the angle. Preparation therefore counts double on this reference, and levelling must be done before the colour, never corrected afterwards.

How to apply it

Dehydrate with pH Bond HEYLOVE, apply Ultra Bond HEYLOVE and let it dry, then cure a coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear for 30 seconds. Lurex calls for a particularly even coat: spread thinly, add a drop, smooth carefully. Magnet for three to five seconds, then a minute under the lamp. The glossy top is indispensable here, since it evens the surface and directly serves the reflection of the metal.

How many coats

On a metallic, the first coat rarely gives a satisfying finish: the material stays translucent and lets the nail show through. The second coat is what establishes the density and lets the particles reflect in the same plane. Count on two thin applications rather than one loaded coat, which would drown the effect instead of revealing it.

When to wear it

A party and evening shade, but also a very fine autumn colour on hands still tanned from late summer. As an accent on one or two fingers over a brown from the range, it lets you offer the metallic without imposing it on the whole hand.
