Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Twill: the water green of the Textile collection

Twill sits between turquoise and sage green, in a greyed register that takes it away from saturated greens. The shimmer of the Textile collection produces an effect of shot silk, where the shade seems to swing between blue and green depending on the angle.

A colour that moves under the light

Shades sitting on the border of two families are the least stable to the eye, and the magnetic effect amplifies that further. In natural light, Twill reads as a water green. Under the warm lighting of a salon or a restaurant, the blue takes over. Warn your client: she will see two different shades over the course of a day, which becomes an asset as soon as she knows it in advance.

How to apply it

Run through pH Bond HEYLOVE, Ultra Bond HEYLOVE and Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cured for 30 seconds. Twill is then worked in a thin coat, with a drop added and spread. Hold the magnet three to five seconds in the direction of your choice, cure for a minute, and add a second thin coat if needed. On cool shades, a perfectly clean outline counts as much as the effect itself.

What to pair it with

It goes naturally with Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Fleece, whose greyed blue extends the same cool family from finger to finger. Against a gold like Lurex, however, the contrast turns harsh: better to stay within the same colour temperature on one hand.

On which hands it shows best

Water green is a cool shade that plays to the full on fair skin, where it creates a delicate contrast. On deeper skin it stays very attractive but shifts towards a more graphic register. It pairs naturally with silver jewellery, in keeping with its reflection.

On which lengths

On short square nails, its freshness gives a crisp and very current result, provided the cuticle line is impeccable. On longer shapes the colour shift has more surface to play with.
