Reflective Gel Polish HEYLOVE Gentle: the slate blue of Qualities

Gentle is a frank slate blue, neither navy nor grey, on which the silver shimmer stands out without crushing the colour. That is the balance sought by clients who want an effect but refuse to let the effect become the subject.

When the colour has to stay legible

On the very dark grounds of the collection, the eye takes in the sparkle first. On a medium ground like this one, it takes in the colour first, and the effect comes second. That hierarchy changes the use entirely: Gentle is worn as a blue that sparkles, not as a glitter polish. It is what makes it compatible with a professional setting where a black with effect can seem too dressed up.

How to apply it

Standard routine: pH Bond HEYLOVE, Ultra Bond HEYLOVE, Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cured for 30 seconds, then one or two coats of Gentle at 60 seconds. Two thin coats give a more even finish than one loaded coat, and align the particles better at the surface.

Which decoration to pair it with

Slate blue readily accepts decoration, unlike the saturated dark shades of the collection. A fine white liner, a sparingly placed silver leaf or a simple graphic line all work very well on this medium ground. The contrast stays legible even once the top is on, which is not always the case on dark shades.

Which hands it suits

Slate blue is a cool colour that works particularly well on fair skin, where the contrast plays to the full. On deeper skin it stays very attractive but loses a little of its graphic edge. In both cases the silver shimmer naturally extends a silver or white gold ring.

When to suggest it

From autumn to spring, where its coolness accompanies the light of the season. It also stays wearable in summer as an accent on one or two fingers over a nude.

This formula contains neither HEMA nor Di-HEMA, so it falls outside the European restriction that reserves those two substances for professional use.
