Reflective Gel Polish HEYLOVE Infrared: the holographic red

Infrared is the only coloured shade in the Space collection, sitting between the black of Space and the silver of Starlight. A deep, dense red in which the holographic shimmer creates iridescent points of light that shift with the viewing angle.

Warn the client, and show her

This is the most useful piece of advice on this family of products. A client discovering her reflective at the desk, under diffuse lighting, may be disappointed: she sees an almost ordinary red. Take thirty seconds to photograph her hands with a flash on her own phone. The effect appears, she understands, and you turn a potential disappointment into a selling point. That is also the moment she posts the photo, which advertises you for free.

How to apply it

Dehydrate with pH Bond HEYLOVE, apply Ultra Bond HEYLOVE, cure Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear for 30 seconds, then Infrared in one or two coats of 60 seconds. Finish without fail with a glossy top, which smooths the surface and lets the particles reflect along the same axis.

Its place in the Space collection

The series has only three references and they divide the spectrum without overlapping: Space covers the dark, Starlight the pale metallic, Infrared the colour. Taking all three gives a complete collection for a minimal investment.

When to wear it

This is an evening and party shade, but its red ground makes it far more wearable day to day than a black or a silver. On short nails it stays discreet during the day and wakes up at nightfall, which makes it one of the rare genuinely versatile reflectives.

Who to start with

It is the reference to recommend for a first experience of the effect, before offering a black or a silver, which are more committing. A client who has understood the principle on a red will accept the rest of the range far more easily.
