Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Maine Coon: the caramel copper of the Cats collection

Maine Coon borrows a warm, luminous caramel copper from the breed's tawny coat. It is the only shade in the collection whose magnetic glow leans towards gold rather than silver, which changes its possible pairings entirely.

The only gold in the collection

Of the eight references in the series, seven return a silver or neutral reflection. Maine Coon is the only one whose particles lean towards gold, which makes it a complement rather than a competitor to the other shades. In a restricted assortment it is the reference to add once you already have a pale one and a dark one: it covers a register nothing else in the collection does.

How to apply it

pH Bond HEYLOVE prepares the plate, the primer Ultra Bond HEYLOVE dries in the air, and a coat of Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cures for 30 seconds. Maine Coon demands more rigour than the others: the veil must be perfectly even before you add material and level, otherwise the metal shows up every flaw. Magnet three to five seconds, lamp one minute.

What metallics demand

Metallic shades mercilessly reveal the reliefs of the plate, because light reflects differently there depending on the angle. Where a nude forgives a slightly ridged surface, a copper underlines every irregularity. Levelling must therefore be done before the colour, never corrected afterwards.

When to wear it

An autumn and party shade, particularly flattering on skin still tanned from late summer. It also works very well on deeper skin tones, where the copper extends the hand rather than cutting across it. As an accent over a brown from the series, it lets you offer the metallic without imposing it everywhere.

What to pair it with

Gold jewellery, naturally, and the browns of the series which extend the same warm family. Silver decoration, on the other hand, creates a clash that is hard to sustain on this ground.

This formula contains neither HEMA nor Di-HEMA, so it falls outside the European restriction that reserves those two substances for professional use.
