Cat's Eye Gel Polish HEYLOVE Fleece: the sky blue of the Textile collection

Fleece is a lightly greyed sky blue, in a woolly register that matches its name exactly. The shimmer of the collection produces a soft depth in it, as if the colour were woven rather than laid on.

Blue, a colour that sells badly and wears well

The observation is a regular one at the desk: blue prompts few spontaneous requests but collects a lot of compliments once worn. It is typically a shade to offer rather than to wait for. Applied as an accent on one or two fingers over a nude, it lets the client test without committing her whole manicure, and often comes back as a full colour at the next appointment.

How to apply it

Dehydration with pH Bond HEYLOVE, then Ultra Bond HEYLOVE and Rubber Base HEYLOVE Clear cured for 30 seconds. Fleece goes on in a thin coat, completed with a smoothed drop. The magnet is held three to five seconds before the lamp, where the coat hardens in a minute. A second thin coat is still useful for a perfectly even finish on this medium shade.

What the magnet direction changes on a blue

On cool shades, a vertical band lengthens the hand and softens the whole, while a horizontal band hardens the result and makes it more graphic. The difference is far more marked than on a neutral, where the effect stays discreet whatever the orientation. On Fleece, orientation therefore becomes a real aesthetic decision.

When to suggest it

In spring and summer, where pale blue accompanies light clothing, but also in winter on fair hands where it creates a very elegant porcelain contrast.

How it photographs

It is one of the most photogenic shades of the collection, which matters if you run a professional account: the shimmer shows up markedly better in a picture than on a still hand.
