Top HEYLOVE Silver Shimmer: sparkle without the glitter

Silver Shimmer sits between a clear top coat and a glitter top coat. Its particles are too fine to be identified individually: they produce a uniform shimmering veil that changes the texture of the colour without altering how it reads.

Shimmer, glitter or reflective

The range offers three families of effect and clients confuse them systematically. Shimmer, here, is a continuous and discreet sparkle, visible at all times. Coin Top HEYLOVE Gold lays down distinct hexagons you see one by one. Reflective Top HEYLOVE Silver stays understated until a direct light switches it on. Setting out that distinction in three sentences in front of the client prevents disappointment and sells better.

How to apply it

Thin coat from cuticle to free edge over a cured colour, sixty seconds under the lamp. Because the shimmer is fine, density depends directly on thickness: one coat gives a light veil, two a definite sparkle. Show both on tips, they are two distinct services.

What it does to cool colours

That is where it performs best. On a grey, a blue, a plum or a black, the silver extends the cool cast and adds depth without distorting the shade. On a beige or an orange, the warm-cool contrast produces a greyed effect that is not always flattering: in that case Top HEYLOVE Gold Shimmer is the coherent choice.

The end-of-set rescue

A less obvious use and yet a frequent one. On a colour that has come out less well than expected, slightly dull or a little uneven, a veil of shimmer rescues the set: the sparkle occupies the eye and masks small imperfections in the colour coat. A useful fix to know.
