Top HEYLOVE Black Side: a dark version of your whole colour chart

Black Side is the most interesting of the tinted top coats because it does not produce a finish but a transformation. Its translucent black goes over a cured colour and darkens it while keeping its cast.

What it changes in a stock

Here is the argument to grasp before anything else. Every shade in your chart exists in a single value: the red you have is the red you have. With this top coat, each one gains a second, deeper version. A bright red becomes a burgundy, a pink becomes a plum, an aqua green becomes forest green, a sky blue a navy. A single bottle virtually doubles the extent of your dark shades, for the price of one reference.

How to apply it

A thin coat over the cured colour, sixty seconds under the lamp. The intensity of the darkening depends directly on the number of coats, and that is where the adjustment happens: one coat shades, two coats transform outright. Test on a tip before committing to a whole hand, the effect varies a great deal with the starting shade.

The vertical fade

The design that suits it best and that no other product allows so simply. Apply it only over the upper half of the nail, blending towards the middle: you get a fade from light to dark within the same colour family, with no visible join since it is the same shade.

What not to use it over

Over very pale pastels and nudes it gives a greyed result that is often dull rather than deep. It needs a colour that already has character to produce something interesting.
